
It's a phrase I’ve found myself saying to so many people lately — including myself: Sometimes the best (and only) thing we can do is focus on just today.
What do I need to do today?
How can I care for myself, even in a small way, today?
Who can I connect with today?
And then, when tomorrow comes, we do the same.
When life feels heavy or overwhelming, bringing it back to just one day — even one moment — makes it more manageable.
If you need to hear this today, let it be your reminder: You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to make that hard decision today. Just take care of today.
The truth is, so many people are feeling overwhelmed right now — whether it’s from personal challenges or simply taking in everything happening in the world. Life can feel like a lot.
But what I’ve realized, and what I keep coming back to, is the power of choosing my focus each day. I may not be able to control everything around me, but I can control where I place my attention — and this choice makes all the difference.
This month, I’m focusing on women’s mental health and how we can better support and elevate women. I’m continually amazed by how much women manage every day. We can all do this in our own circles — find a woman and compliment her, affirm the good you see in her. How different we would all feel if we did this regularly. Life and Legacy:
Last week, we attended my beautiful aunt’s celebration of life in Toronto. She was not a woman of many words, but through the stories shared by her husband, siblings, children, and grandchildren, it was clear she made an impact that will last for generations.


In her quiet way, she did whatever she could to make people feel loved and cared for — often by feeding them.
The funeral happened to fall on my husband Ed’s birthday, and we realized — in a strange and unexpected way — what a gift it was to begin another year of life with an end-of-life perspective.
We left thinking about the legacy we want to leave and what truly matters in the end: how we invest in others.
Do we show love?
Do we make time for people?
Do we really listen?
And do the people closest to us know we care?
In the end, this is what matters the most.

Recently, I had the privilege of speaking at Genmab’s International Women’s Day wellness event, and it was so encouraging to see a large organization celebrate women’s accomplishments and invite everyone into that conversation.

I’m always moved by those who stay after to share their stories — often emotional — because they feel seen, cared for, and leave with tools to manage life’s stressors and gain perspective.
Research from Oxford shows that employees who feel cared for and experience belonging are happier — and companies with happier employees perform better financially. When we invest in our people, everyone wins.
